How about sleeping in a hammock? You may also sit on the entrance to the loft and have space for a desk. :)

I've been considering the under the floor idea actually and can find several logical reasons to sleep over the living space, heat rises so it's the last place to be warm in the morning snd plumbing often eats up space below a house. I like the out-of-the-box thinking though. Always good to consider ideas. Thanks Jeremiah and Scott!

If I had to sleep under my "main floor" I fear I'd have the distinct sensation of being buried alive. And I'm not a particularly claustrophobic person.

I think there's something intrinsic to our evolutionary development that makes us prefer resting over a main space rather than under it - a more extreme version of our preference for viewing the entrance to a space rather than being seated with our back to it.

Can't fight those survival instincts and have a happy home.

Interesting outside the box idea Scott... Let me noodle on that... I'd never considered flipping the design upside down. Thanks!

Hey, great concept. I think from a design perspective though, you should not elevate sleeping but have that as the 'basement' where you can elevate the normal living space and create your entry on top of the sleeping space. Adding steps for access to the entrance then affords you the ability to lose those weird supports and create more room on the interior. I'm also a fan of your pallet living spaces. Very good! Keep up the creative process.
